The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 delivers reliable pure sine wave power from a 12V battery system.

It provides 3000VA output, 2400W continuous power and up to 6000W peak power. Therefore, it can start demanding appliances, motors and refrigeration compressors.

VE.Bus connectivity also supports system monitoring, configuration, parallel operation and three-phase installations.

Description

Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 230V VE.Bus converts 12V battery power into clean, reliable 230V pure sine wave electricity.

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 converts 12V battery power into clean and stable 230V AC electricity.

It is designed for professional marine, caravan, motorhome, off-grid and commercial power systems. Furthermore, its pure sine wave output safely supports sensitive electronics and demanding appliances.

The inverter delivers 3000VA of continuous apparent power. Additionally, it provides 2400W of continuous real power at 25°C.

A powerful 6000W peak output helps start equipment requiring extra power during startup. Therefore, it is suitable for refrigeration compressors, electric motors, pumps, tools and various household appliances.

Reliable Pure Sine Wave Power

Pure sine wave output closely matches the electricity supplied through a standard household power outlet.

As a result, compatible appliances can operate smoothly, quietly and efficiently. Sensitive electronics are also less likely to experience interference, excess heat or unreliable performance.

The output is maintained at 230V AC with excellent voltage stability. Moreover, the standard frequency is 50Hz, making this model suitable for Australian applications.

However, appliance requirements should always be checked before installation.

High Startup Power

Many electrical appliances require significantly more power when starting than during normal operation.

Refrigerators, compressors, pumps and electric motors are common examples. Fortunately, Victron’s SinusMax technology provides strong startup performance for these demanding loads.

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 can briefly supply up to 6000W. Therefore, it can operate equipment that may overwhelm smaller or lower-quality inverters.

Efficient Battery Operation

Efficiency is important when electricity is being supplied from a battery bank.

This inverter achieves up to 93% maximum efficiency on a 12V system. Consequently, less battery energy is wasted as heat.

Its zero-load consumption is approximately 20W during standard operation. However, AES mode reduces this figure to approximately 15W.

Search mode can reduce idle consumption further to around 8W. Therefore, this feature is useful when appliances operate intermittently.

VE.Bus Communication

The integrated VE.Bus communication port provides advanced system control and configuration options.

Using an optional Victron MK3-USB interface, the inverter can be connected to a computer. Settings can then be adjusted through VictronConnect or VEConfigure software.

Adjustable settings include output voltage, frequency and battery protection limits. In addition, the programmable relay can support alarms or generator start and stop functions.

The inverter can also connect with compatible GX devices, including the Cerbo GX. This provides convenient monitoring and broader Victron system integration.

Parallel and Three-Phase Capability Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 230V VE.Bus

Greater power output can be achieved by connecting compatible Victron units in parallel.

Up to six compatible inverters can be operated together. Additionally, compatible units can be configured for three-phase power systems.

Professional system design and configuration are required. Therefore, these installations should be completed by experienced and properly licensed technicians.

Built-In Protection

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 includes several important protection features.

Protection is provided against:

  • Output short circuits
  • Excessive loads
  • High battery voltage
  • Low battery voltage
  • Excessive internal temperature
  • AC voltage detected at the inverter output
  • Excessive input voltage ripple

These safeguards help protect the inverter, connected appliances and battery system. Nevertheless, correct cable sizes, fuses, ventilation and installation practices remain essential.

Durable Aluminium Enclosure

The inverter is housed inside a strong blue aluminium enclosure.

Fan-assisted cooling helps manage operating temperature under demanding loads. Furthermore, its IP21 protection rating provides limited protection against solid objects and vertically falling water drops.

The inverter should still be installed in a dry, ventilated location. It must not be exposed directly to rain, water, excessive dust or flammable materials.

Power Output at Different Temperatures Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 230V VE.Bus

High ambient temperatures can reduce an inverter’s continuous output capacity.

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 provides:

  • 2400W continuous output at 25°C
  • 2200W continuous output at 40°C
  • 1700W continuous output at 65°C
  • 6000W peak output

Therefore, good ventilation and correct installation clearance are particularly important in Australian conditions.

Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 230V VE.Bus Applications

The Victron Phoenix Inverter 12/3000 is suitable for many battery-powered systems, including:

  • Caravans and motorhomes
  • Camper trailers
  • Marine electrical systems
  • Off-grid cabins
  • Service vehicles
  • Mobile workshops
  • Backup power installations
  • Remote communications equipment
  • Professional battery systems

Appliance startup requirements and total power demand must be calculated before installation.

Important Installation Information

This is a powerful 12V inverter. Therefore, it can draw very high current from the battery bank under heavy loads.

Correct battery capacity, cable sizing and fuse protection are essential. Additionally, the inverter should be securely mounted with adequate airflow.

The 230V AC installation must be completed according to applicable Australian electrical requirements. A licensed electrician should complete any fixed 230V wiring.

This product is an inverter only. It does not include a battery charger or automatic AC transfer switch.
